Anger is one of the primary emotions that we experienced in our everyday living. It only becomes problematic if we expressed it more often without a valid or significant reason of our expression on a certain event (Wood & Newton, 2003). Studies showed that anger is paralleled and most of time associated with aggressive action or even violent behaviour which triggers in the commission of crimes. Basically, angry feeling and aggressiveness when combined together are associated in influencing how we express and on how we control anger inwardly and outwardly. This research aimed to improve the expression and control of anger using the Novaco Anger Management Program (NAMP). There are three (3) tasks of NAMP (1) to understand the anger, (2) to understand the thinking and feeling, and (3) to manage their expression and control of anger (O’Neill, 2006). True experimental design was utilized to determine the effectiveness of the Novaco Anger Management Program (NAMP) on the expression and control of anger among male offenders of San Mateo Municipal Jail. Participants (n=30) were given pre-test and post-test using State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-II (STAXI-2) measuring the expression and control levels of anger. Participants were randomly assigned into two groups. One is the focus of the experiment that will undergo NAMP and the other group is a base line without treatment. Data was analyzed using t-test to measure the difference between the four dependent variables and Cohen’s-d to know the effect size to the group.
